Behind the Scenes - The Return Home

I wanted to create an image of returning home after a day on the hill skiing. I wanted to challenge myself and see if I could create an evening scene in the middle of the day. We shoot these images around noon on a partially sunny day.

The lighting set up for this scene was fairly simple. Inside the door of the RV I set up a strip box with an orange gel to create the warm light coming from inside. This light was used to light Mauri and create the welcoming vibe home. Outside I used a reflector with a grid to create a backlight that would give the subtle appearance of an outdoor light.

A slightly different frame. Instead of using an orange gel I used a blue gel to simulate LED lighting that might be in the storage area of the RV.
